How can meditation help You?

Build more satisfying life!

Happiness is a very subjective concept: How can we ensure it for ourselves?

You won’t change an unwanted system or Your old thoughts by fighting against them. It happens naturally when You redirect Your attention and choose Your own path.

While living in different countries, I always encounter the same phenomenon. We all struggle with various difficulties, fight for different things, depending on where we were born and what we hear around us. At the same time, we think they are happier because they have music, sunshine, and abundant fruits all year round, while they think we are happier because we are white and perhaps have a car. We think they are happier because they earn in euros, and they think we are happier because we can still pay in cash and buy at the market, and women don’t have to wear a hijab. Everywhere, without exception, I meet both happy, joyful individuals and those constantly battling, as if they see a completely different world. Happiness is a highly relative concept, and only we can ensure it for ourselves. The unwanted system won’t change by fighting against it, constantly giving it attention and following it—our precious energy. Easier said than done, right? In building my happier, more fulfilling life and making better decisions, meditation and distancing myself from my (and sometimes others’)—often crazy—thoughts help me.

FAQ

How does meditation help change the perception of happiness?

Meditation allows us to look at our thoughts and emotions from a different perspective, giving us clarity and peace of mind. It helps us notice our emotions, accept them, feel them, and let them go. It’s like stepping back from a detailed picture to see the bigger picture, which often shows us that we’ve been overly focused on one thing that brings us down. Meditation and regular self-connection allow us to obtain the most consistent answers to our pressing questions and make the most relevant decisions. I like the comparison that meditation is to the mind what physical exercise is to the body. Through exercise, the body becomes stronger and less prone to injury when, for example, You need to reach for something or run for a bus. Similarly, a mind trained in meditation is not easily injured in stressful situations; we are able to control it, master it, because we are trained in controlling our racing thoughts.

How do I start meditating and incorporate it into my daily routine?

To start meditating, all You need is a quiet place to sit and a few minutes of uninterrupted practice. You can begin with just a few minutes a day and gradually increase Your practice. To incorporate meditation into Your busy schedule, You can allocate time for it in the morning or evening or look for opportunities to meditate during the day, such as during lunch breaks or during Your commute.

What are the benefits of meditation?

Meditation brings many benefits, such as stress and anxiety reduction, mood improvement, increased self-awareness, and assistance in connecting with intuition and inner wisdom.
